  3. Prof. Lee (APNG Chair)
    • Joan contacted Prof. Lee to invite her to the committee meeting since she was online on MSN.
    • Prof. Lee has informed that she has already resigned from APNG Chair position and Tommy-son will handle the matter.
    • Committee decided to wait for Tommy-son’s response on this matter (which was expected via email).

  4. Discuss what to do with the assigned tasks with no progress
    • Committee agreed to give two (2) additional weeks for the committee members who haven’t completed the assigned tasks to be completed. Some of the important items are:
      1. Comments & Suggestions (Sagarika)
      2. Visa Issues (Lihying)
    • Fellowship announcement will be delayed for another 2 weeks due to the unavailability of CFP in the following WG
      1. Internet Technology (Dihan)
      2. E-commerce (Rahman)
      3. E-learning & Live E! (Hikata-son)

  5. Fellowships announcement (with CFP)
    • Committee agreed to offer following two types of fellowships in addition to usual full APNG fellowships.
      1. Partial fellowship (for the participants outside China)
      2. Local fellowships (for Chinese)
    • It was expected to have much higher participation for the 9th Camp in this way.
    • Partial fellowship
      • Will be same as full fellowship except the air fare for participant out side China.
    • Local fellowship
      • Will be same as partial fellowship (except accommodation for Chinese?)
    • Committee wanted to make the complication minimal for selection criteria.
    • Aadit was assigned to draft the selection criteria and is expected to alter the Fellowship announcement accordingly as the Fellowship coordinator.
    • Xiaohui was assigned to support Aadit task by doing a rough budgeting for each type of fellowship.

  6. Tentative Camp Schedule
    • Should have time for each speaker.
    • Xiaohui & Tsering will work to upload the tentative camp schedule on the web.
       
  7. Potential speakers
    • Decided to get some speakers attending APAN.
    • Each committee member was expected to suggest names within one week of the meeting.
    • Some keynote speakers will grab from sponsors.
    • Camp Chair/Tommy-son will decide the speakers. Camp committee will only propose a potential list.
       
  8. Sponsorships:
    • Decided to alter the request letter removing the fact that tentative schedule is on-line.
    • The list of documents to sent was finalized.
    • Committee discussed to put APNG committee member resumes/biography/names on the sponsorship request letter and dropped the idea.
    • Tsering was asked to update the information about the APNG committee members with more details.
    • Each committee member was requested to provide a contact point for APNG activities in their countries.
       
  9. APNG promotion @ ITU Telecom Exhibition
    • No application was received by the meeting date.
