  1. Participants:
    • Amaraweera, Sumith, Xiaohui, Sagarika, Tsering, Kashif, Rahaman, Ravi, 8con

  2. Discuss special issues in assigned tasks:
    • The initial proposals still not submitted from Lihying (Visa), Sagarika (Suggestions), Dihan (Internet Technology WG) were requested to submit within next week (before 7th October)
    • The highest priority tasks were identified
      • Sponsorships
      • Fellowship & CFP announcement
      • APNG promotion

  3. Sponsorships
    • Jobs to be completed by 24th September:
      1. Drafting the sponsorship request letter – Tsering
      2. Drafting a tentative schedule & identify possible sponsoring events/tasks (E.g. fellowship, local transportation, accommodation, etc) for the 9th Camp – Xiaohui
    • Deadlines:
      1. Prepare Sponsorship request letters:  24-Sep-06
      2. Send Sponsorship request letters with other supportive documents:  07-Oct-06
      3. Following up each sponsor:  01-Dec-06
      4. Get the confirmation from sponsors:  01-Feb-07
      5. Get their money and arrange their presentations:  01-Jun-07
      6. Arrange their presentations, banners, etc.:  01-Jul-07
         
  4. Fellowships & CFP announcements – Aadit & WG Chairs
    • Changes from previous announcements
      • Offering partial fellowships [both Local (Chinese) & Regional]
      • Call for fellow’s papers (instead of call for presentations) from each WG
    • Deadlines
      1. Prepare Fellowship & CFP Announcement from WGs 24-Sep-06
      2. Committee Approval for the Announcement 30-Sep-06
      3. Fellowship &CFP Announcement 06-Oct-06
      4. Fellowship Application Closing Date 31-Dec-06
      5. Fellowship Evaluation 28-Feb-07
      6. Selection Announcement 03-Mar-07
         
  5. APNG Promotion
    • Promotion at APNIC meeting
      1. Decided to give-up since we do not have enough time to prepare promotion materials.
    • Promotion at ITU TELECOM Digital Life Theatre Competition
      1. Decided to call upon a competition to prepare the APNG promotional video clip (less than 5 min).
      2. The winner will be awarded a fellowship for 9th APNG camp
      3. This decision will be confirmed only if Prof. Lee or Tommy-san does not have any objections.
         
  6. Next Meeting
    • Date: Saturday, 30th September 2006 [Brought the meeting 1 week ahead since on the usual meeting day (7th October) LKiNG has a whole day School Seminar program].
    • Time: Same as previous:

      • MSN had technical problems in both previous meetings. Therefore the committee decided to try next meeting on Yahoo messenger.
